I loves them. Nik strongly dislikes them but acknowledges that there probably isn't a lamp out there he would like anyway.
I also got some organic/health food; 20oz Box of Sweet Rice Flour(1.80) and a bag of Namaste Foods Gluten Free Perfect Flour Blend(4.50) that are probably destined to be gifted to friends. Bag of organic kettle chips (1.80), green tea, and Jones Cola (.80 each).

No yarn this time though. And he shot me in the left leg. Strange thing is, it really didn't hurt. Then I somehow pulled a muscle in my other leg (fell down??). We decided to walk to the hospital. Which was attached to a catholic church. odd. I don't think i was bleeding and strangely the pulled muscle hurt a lot more than the gunshot wound. We wandered around the church looking for the hospital entrance while a funeral was going on. Found out it was a children's hospital and they did not have emergency services so we just went back to the hotel we were staying at. And I think in the back of my mind during the hole thing I was on some kind of undercover mission.

This dream was probably fueled by watching 3 days of Stargate SG-1 were the members of SG-1 are invincible and critically wounded over and over but never die. because they are heroes and can't die. Who else would save the world? SG-2? The Tok'ra? I think not.

Knex Yarn Swift *new and improved!*

This is my fourth version of the knex yarn swift. My favorite so far. Also this one took up nearly all my pieces.

The first and second versions are located here.

For the third version I used the Ferris wheel instructions from that came with my knex set. Worked great, really big and impressive. But not so good to hold skeins that weren't originally wound on it.

So for version 4 I give you the adjustable knex yarn swift. I obsessively check the blogs i follow for updates. i love ready about what other people share with me about there life. I like hearing about there knitting, there families, and anything remotely funny. If bloggers updated everyday, it still wouldn't be enough for me. I use to have a Xanga where I would check to see if people commented on my posts dozens of times a day. And I would only post once to twice a week. Seriously, I was on there at least once an hour and would not post. What is wrong with me? Its not like I have nothing to write about, I compose blog entries in my head everyday. I just sit there and look absent to the world as I visual my posts and work out the wording in my head. Sometimes while I am in my head happily composing stories about unimportant things, Nik will look at me and go "what!?"
"huh babe? did you need something?"
"Do you need something? You're staring at me."
"Am not"
"What were you thinking about?"
And then I'll tell him about how I was wondering how hard it would be to convert a sock pattern using sock yarn into a wrist warmer pattern using worsted weight yarn and if it would still give me a good stitch definition or would the stitch number repeats not work out...
And he will be sorry he asked. Actually, he has stopped asking. He'll usually only ask if he thinks I'm feeling neglected to seem interested. Sweet boy, really.

I also love long posts. I could ramble on forever. Because once I get going I can usually lead into about 2 full typed pages of nonsense before I lose interest with myself.

Knitting!
I'm on Ravelry. I heart is a lot. I also love the story and coding behind ravelry and it makes the nerd in me happy. ok, and jealous of his mad skills.

I finished the giant man sweater! YAY!(note: NikHATES that I call it the giant man sweater, but a large sweater is a lot of knitting) And I need to redo the zipper. BOO. I f'ed it up real good.

Next post: a pattern! yay! For my spiral hat done in Tunisian crochet. super amazing. After looking at it, it is almost exactly like Odessa from Knitty.com without the beads. I amaze myself.
To do list: fix this site with pattern links and make it better represent my mad graphic web programmer skills
(graphic web programmer?? what the hell is that. Its the made up word for someone who major is to confusing to explain so they invented a word that mildly less confusing to the random person or relative. You probably guessed, my major was half computer science, 1/4 graphic design(art), and 1/4 media. Kind of handy stuff to know.)

More Info

OK, i decided i don't care if people know who i am. I haven't decided if I'm going to link to it(I don't care if people go there, I just used my real name as the title and I'm trying to protect my Internet identify a little better).

I am originally a crocheter. I learned in high school, mostly self taught with some instruction from my mother. I was so determined for several years to be a crocheter and had high ambitions to make cool crochet things. I was determined to show those knitters that crochet wasn't just for ugly things or blankets. Well, I'm was came over to the dark side and now mostly knit.

I don't really have a stash. I have some things but nothing crazy, mostly acrylic and yarn from big craft stores. I am slowly working on getting rid all of it because its mostly hideous and i don't know what i was thinking when i bought it all.

I have a few crochet patterns of my own creation that I will repost here soon and I am hoping to be better about posting projects that I'm working on.

A little about my non-knitting life.
I am a recent college graduate and a java programmer. I am also recently married, I'm sure you'll hear more about my dh in later posts. I guess alot of my life is 'recent' and new. I am in a new town, a new home, new job, newly married.

If you have any questions/comments/requests or if you think you know me ask! I would love to know if/when people start reading my blog.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://wouldknitbenice.blogspot.com/2007/09/hello-nice-to-meet-you.html' title='Hello!
